REG was established and listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market in May 2005.
The Group’s main business is the development, construction, financing and operation of onshore wind farms in the UK. It also generates power from recycled used cooking oil. REG operates through two main subsidiary companies:
REG Windpower is based in Bath and Truro. The company operates ten wind projects in Cornwall, County Durham, Cumbria, Cambridgeshire, Yorkshire and Gwynedd, with a total capacity of 41.15MW. We have an additional six projects with planning permission awaiting construction with a potential capacity of close to 30MW and a development pipeline in excess of 1,000MW.
Investment in our team of experienced industry professionals means we have the in-house resources to identify and develop projects to planning consent in-house, as well as build and manage the wind farms.
Our strong financial resources enable us to quickly progress projects from consent to operation.
REG Bio-Power generates renewable electricity from recovered used cooking oil (UCO). The company operates through two UK subsidiaries, Living Fuels and Living Power.
Living Fuels collects UCO from municipal sites, public sector and commercial clients. At our groundbreaking processing plant in Hockwold, Norfolk, we use a natural, chemical-free system to create a patented bioliquid – LF100.
LF100 is then used to fuel renewable energy generation plant built and maintained by Living Power.
The UK Government’s ongoing commitment to achieving challenging emissions reduction targets continues to provide opportunities for REG. We have the necessary expertise in development, financing, construction and operations to play a significant part in delivering the renewable energy capacity required for 2020 and beyond.
